Kidnappers Raid Celestial Church in Ogun State, Abduct Two Worshippers

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have launched an attack on a Celestial Church in Ogun State, resulting in the abduction of two worshippers, Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola.

The incident occurred near Oriyarin village, Mowe, situated in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Thursday. According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, the perpetrators fled through a dense forest behind the church following the abduction.

In a statement released on Friday, SP Omolola Odutola stated: “Suspected kidnapping: Report at my disposal reveals that on 28/3/2024, unidentified gunmen invaded a Celestial Church around Oriyarin village Mowe and abducted one Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola and escaped through the thick forest behind the church.”

The Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, has been briefed about the incident, and he has ordered an immediate mobilization of security personnel to pursue the hoodlums.
