Popular singer and co-founder of Five Star Music, Kcee, has responded to allegations made by his former signee, Harrysong, claiming that he wrote many of Kcee’s chart-topping songs during his time with the label.
In a recent interview on the Afrobeats podcast, Kcee addressed the accusations, shedding light on the timeline of events. He refuted Harrysong’s claims, stating that during the period when he and his former partner, Presh, won the Star Quest talent show and secured a deal with Kennis Music, Harrysong was still in the village with his grandmother.
Kcee went on to emphasize that despite Harrysong’s departure from Five Star Music eight years ago, he continues to produce hit songs independently. He questioned whether Harrysong had a hand in the albums released during their Kennis Music era, challenging the validity of the songwriter’s assertions.
Expressing concern for Harrysong’s well-being, Kcee suggested that the artist might be in need of spiritual guidance. This concern extends to reported conflicts between Harrysong and his wife and former manager, Soso.
Kcee’s perspective on the matter is encapsulated in his statement, “When I won Star Quest, Harrysong was in the village with his grandmother. I did three albums with Kennis Music, did Harrysong write those? Harrysong has a problem, we need to pray for him. Jokes apart, we need to pray for him.”
The exchange between Kcee and Harrysong highlights an ongoing dispute that has garnered attention within the music industry. Kcee’s call for prayers adds a layer of concern for Harrysong’s overall well-being, transcending the professional disagreements between the two artists.
