Kanye West Reveals Current Favorite Rappers and Criticizes J.Cole’s Apology to Kendrick Lamar

American hip-hop luminary Kanye West has unveiled his current lineup of favorite rappers, highlighting 21 Savage, Kodak Black, and Young Moose as his top picks. During a recent appearance on The Download Podcast, the Yeezy mogul discussed his evolving musical preferences, emphasizing that his favorite artists are subject to change over time.

West’s admiration for 21 Savage was noted, but he also acknowledged the inclusion of Kodak Black and rising talent Young Moose in his current roster of favorites. The dynamic nature of his musical tastes underscores his ongoing exploration and appreciation of emerging voices in the rap scene.

In addition to discussing his favorite artists, West took aim at fellow rapper J.Cole for apologizing to Kendrick Lamar over a diss track. J.Cole’s apology, delivered during his performance at the 2024 Dreamville Festival, drew criticism from West, who characterized it as a sign of weakness.

According to West, J.Cole’s decision to apologize to Kendrick Lamar was misguided, suggesting that it undermined his credibility as an artist. He dismissed J.Cole’s music and expressed disdain for the rapper, asserting that he does not listen to his work and casting doubt on his authenticity as an artist.
