In a startling revelation, American rapper Kanye West has made explosive claims regarding his colleague Drake, suggesting that their contentious fallout stems from Drake allegedly making a pact with “the devil.” West asserted that Drake’s purported alignment with forces opposed to God, which he himself represents, has fueled their ongoing rift.
During a recent appearance on ‘The Download’ podcast, West delved into the intricacies of their strained relationship, asserting, “It’s like he [Drake] signed his soul to the devil to not be cool with me. This is his job, to go against God.” West’s candid remarks shed light on the depth of animosity between the two artists, with West expressing his enthusiasm for what he described as the “elimination” of Drake from the hip-hop industry.
West’s sentiments were further echoed during his collaboration on Future and Metro Boomin’s ‘Like That’ remix, where he purportedly lent his vocals in celebration of what he perceived as Drake’s downfall. He recounted, “Pluto [Future] called me, I went to the studio and laid that [my verse on the remix]. Everybody was very, very excited about the elimination of Drake. Not excited — we was energized.”
Moreover, West insinuated that Drake’s commercial success was influenced by his connections, particularly citing Lucian Grainge, CEO of Universal Music, as a significant figure in Drake’s ascent. West suggested that Drake’s familial ties to Grainge afforded him undue advantages within the industry. West remarked, “Drake has a rich baby daddy, named Lucian [Grainge] and Universal. He’s like, my daddy control the spins, my daddy got the DSPs.”
