The Kogi State Police Command, in collaboration with the military, has successfully rescued 16 kidnapped victims in the state. According to the statement released on Monday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, the rescue operation followed the abduction of 11 passengers from a Peace Mass Transit Bus and five others from a Sienna bus along Ette Enugu Ezike Road on February 25, 2024.
Aya highlighted that a joint team comprising Kogi Police and Military personnel swiftly responded to the incident, tracking and rescuing all the victims from the bush unharmed. He emphasized ongoing efforts to apprehend the suspects responsible for the kidnapping, ensuring they face the full weight of justice.
Commending the collaborative efforts of the security team, the state Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to combatting criminal activities in Kogi State. He urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement and other security agencies in safeguarding lives and property across the state.
