Jenny McCarthy has revealed that she took a sacred item from Pope Francis during a visit to Italy. The 51-year-old TV personality, who grew up in a devout Catholic family, made the confession on the “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” podcast.
“I stole a cross from the Vatican and gave it to my mother,” McCarthy, known for her role as a judge on ‘The Masked Singer’, told host Kelly Ripa. She added that her mother’s reaction was, “You know, this is not okay.”
Clarifying the incident, McCarthy explained that she didn’t “personally” steal the cross. Instead, it was taken by one of her friends during their visit to the Pope’s apartment in Vatican City. Despite the questionable acquisition, McCarthy mentioned that her mother, Linda, has kept the cross, which is now prominently displayed in her home. “She still has it on the wall, though, so I feel like it was — it’s in good hands,” McCarthy said.
