The Ondo State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the tragic death of Mr. Alaba Abe, also known as Excel, one of the ward campaign coordinators for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa during the recent party primary. Abe was reportedly assassinated by unknown gunmen in Supare Akoko, Akoko South-West Area of the state on Saturday evening.
The incident, occurring barely a week after the All Progressives Congress held its primary across the 18 local government areas of the state, has sent shockwaves through the community. Abe, who also served as the returning officer for the party’s primary at Ward 10 in the council area, was gunned down around 9 pm in front of his residence in Supare Akoko.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, stated that the command was aware and had commenced investigations. She affirmed, “The command is aware of the incident at Supare; an investigation is ongoing to unravel all that happened.”
