In a surprising move that sent shockwaves through Major League Soccer, Inter Miami traded away their captain, Deandre Yedlin, to FC Cincinnati on Monday morning. The deal, agreed upon between domestic rivals, sees Yedlin bid farewell to Chase Stadium, marking the end of an era for the Herons.
Yedlin, a United States international defender, assumed the role of club captain at Inter Miami when Lionel Messi arrived in Florida during the summer of 2023. He played a pivotal role in guiding the team to a historic Leagues Cup crown, sharing trophy-lifting duties with Messi. However, despite his leadership and contributions on and off the field, Yedlin now embarks on a new chapter in his career with FC Cincinnati.
