Illbliss Pays Tribute to Late Rapper Dagrin on 14th Anniversary of His Passing

Nigerian rapper Illbliss has taken to social media to commemorate the 14th anniversary of the passing of his late colleague, Oladapo Olaonipekun, fondly remembered as Dagrin.

Dagrin, a rising star in the indigenous rap scene, tragically lost his life in a fatal auto crash on April 22, 2010. Despite his untimely departure, his impact on Nigerian hip-hop remains profound.

In a poignant tribute shared on his X account on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Illbliss honored Dagrin’s enduring legacy, stating, “Keep Resting Bro! Your legacy will never end. We remember you. We respect your colossal immeasurable contributions to Nigerian Hip-hop. You inspired so many. Keep resting.”

Dagrin’s influence transcended his lifetime, as he is widely credited with paving the way for indigenous rap in Nigeria. His iconic hits such as “Pon Pon Pon,” “Thank God” featuring Omawumi, “Kondo,” and “If I Die,” among others, continue to resonate with fans.
