Governor Makinde Swears in New President of Oyo State Customary Court of Appeal

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State administered the oath of allegiance and judicial oath to Justice Tajudeen Abdulganiyu, the newly-appointed President of the Oyo State Customary Court of Appeal. The ceremony took place at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan, the state capital.

During the event, Governor Makinde reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to collaborating with and supporting the judiciary and legislative branches. He emphasized the importance of a functional system and highlighted the cordial relationship between his administration and the judiciary over the past five years.

Governor Makinde emphasized that Justice Abdulganiyu’s appointment followed due process and recommendations without political, religious, or ethnic bias. He commended the adherence to due process and reiterated the state’s commitment to fairness and transparency in appointments.

In his address, Governor Makinde encouraged the youth to pursue their dreams diligently, emphasizing the value of perseverance and patience in achieving lasting success.

After the swearing-in ceremony, Justice Abdulganiyu expressed his commitment to promoting customary laws and ensuring their enforcement. He pledged to enhance the functionality of the Customary Court and preserve its significance as an integral aspect of the state’s legal system.
