Gov. Ademola Adeleke Denies Taking Loans, Highlights Achievements at ‘Ipade Imole’ Forum

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has categorically stated that he has not taken any loans since assuming office on November 27, 2022. Addressing attendees at the second edition of “Ipade Imole,” a forum where he provided stewardship to the people of the state, Governor Adeleke reiterated his commitment to governing within the available resources.

Adeleke emphasized his administration’s pledge to refrain from borrowing to finance infrastructure development, aligning his governance approach with responsible fiscal management. He asserted, “In all our governance activities so far, let it be known that we have never borrowed a kobo.” He dismissed any claims to the contrary as falsehoods.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements across various sectors, Governor Adeleke outlined significant strides in repositioning the mining sector and combating illegal mining activities through the establishment of a task force. In the health sector, he highlighted the renovation and upgrade of over 100 Primary Health Care Centres, along with the successful enrollment of 29,000 pensioners in the State Health Insurance Scheme.

Moreover, Governor Adeleke announced the award of a N1.3 billion water contract for the rehabilitation of the Ora Water Works Scheme, benefitting the Igbomina area of the state. In education, he emphasized the approval of the recruitment of 5,250 new teachers and school officers to enhance teaching and learning in schools.

On infrastructure development, the governor detailed plans for the construction of flyover bridges and road dualisation projects across the state. Additionally, his administration is actively promoting agriculture, women development, youth development, and creative industries.
