Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has expressed unwavering confidence in the Black Stars’ ability to achieve success on both the continental and global stage, despite recent setbacks.

The Black Stars’ performance in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has been under scrutiny following a series of underwhelming results. Despite initial optimism, Ghana finished with just two points in Group B after a loss to Cape Verde and draws against Egypt and Mozambique, highlighting the team’s struggles to assert their dominance in the tournament.

Ghana’s recent performances in major competitions, including the 2021 AFCON and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, have been less than stellar, with early exits tarnishing their reputation on the international stage. However, Okraku remains undeterred in his vision to propel the Black Stars to greater heights during his tenure at the helm of the GFA.

“I want to win the Afcon, I want to win the [FIFA] World Cup, I want to win every competition Ghana finds itself in,” Okraku boldly declared, emphasizing the collective ambition and determination of the GFA Executive Council to elevate the team’s performance and restore national pride in Ghanaian football.

Despite recent managerial changes, with Chris Hughton’s departure following the disappointing AFCON campaign, the GFA remains steadfast in its pursuit of success. The search for Hughton’s successor is underway as the federation prepares to chart a new course for the Black Stars.

Looking ahead, the Black Stars will shift their focus to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with crucial matches slated to resume in March. The upcoming qualifiers present an opportunity for Ghana to regroup, refocus, and embark on a journey towards redemption as they strive to secure a spot in the prestigious tournament.

As Ghanaian football navigates through a period of transition and renewal, Okraku’s ambitious vision and steadfast commitment to excellence serve as a beacon of hope, inspiring optimism and determination among fans and players alike.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Black Stars embark on their quest for glory, fueled by the unwavering belief in their potential to conquer both the continent and the world.
