The family of the late Nollywood actor John Paul Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope, has released funeral arrangements following his tragic passing.
Junior Pope and four other actors lost their lives in a boating accident on April 10, when their boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra State. With only seven individuals rescued alive out of the 12 onboard, the devastating incident left a profound impact on the entertainment industry.
The funeral arrangements, signed by Divine Odonwodo on behalf of the family, outline a series of events to honor the late actor’s memory. A requiem mass was held on April 23 at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish in Asaba, Delta State.
Additional services include another requiem mass scheduled at Christ the King Catholic Parish, G.R.A., Enugu, on May 13. On May 14, an evening of tributes and candlelight will take place at Amadeo Event Centre in Enugu at 5 pm. A wake will follow on May 16 at Junior Pope’s country home in Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of the state.
The burial ceremony is set for Friday, May 17, featuring a burial mass at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, Ukehe, followed by interment at his country home. The funeral proceedings will conclude with a thanksgiving mass at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, Ukehe, on May 20.
