Fulham Sign Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace in £30m Deal

Fulham have secured the signing of centre-back Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace for approximately £30 million. The Cottagers had been pursuing the 28-year-old Denmark international throughout the summer, despite having an initial bid rejected by Palace, who sought a fee closer to £40 million.

Andersen, who previously played for Fulham on loan during the 2020-21 season, has signed a five-year contract with the club, with an option to extend for an additional year.

“It’s really nice to be here. Feels a little bit like coming home, so it’s a good feeling,” Andersen said upon his return. “Of course, I know the club, I know how Fulham are playing, I know many players, I know some staff, so I didn’t need anyone to convince me because I knew a lot of things already.”

During his loan spell at Fulham, Andersen made 31 Premier League appearances, scoring one goal. After his loan, he moved to Crystal Palace from Lyon in the summer of 2021, where he made 112 appearances for the Eagles.

Andersen played a crucial role in Denmark’s Euro 2024 campaign, where they reached the last 16 before being knocked out by hosts Germany.

Meanwhile, Andersen’s former centre-back partner at Palace, Marc Guehi, has attracted interest from Newcastle United. However, Palace chairman Steve Parish has stated that it is “unlikely” both players would leave the club this summer.

“Marc [Guehi] will lead the team as captain [against West Ham on Saturday],” Palace manager Oliver Glasner said. “I expect everyone to be a Crystal Palace player until someone tells me different.”
