A tragic multi-vehicle accident along the Ilesa-Akure express road in Osun State has resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left 20 others injured. The incident occurred at Ikeji-Arakeji in the Oriade Local Government Area and involved two commercial buses and a truck.
According to the Osun Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Taofeek Somunbi, the fatalities included three women and one man. The crash, which happened on Wednesday, was attributed to overspeeding and reckless driving by the drivers involved. One of the vehicles reportedly burst into flames after the collision.
Emergency services, including FRSC operatives, swiftly responded to the scene, clearing the debris and ensuring the safety of other road users. Commander Somunbi urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads to prevent such tragedies in the future.
