The University of Benin community mourns the loss of one of its distinguished scholars and medical practitioners, Prof. Pius Iribhogbe, who served as the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of the institution. Prof. Iribhogbe’s passing leaves a void not only in academia but also in the medical field, where he excelled as a consultant trauma surgeon and head of the Department of Surgery at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.

Prof. Iribhogbe’s contributions to education and healthcare were invaluable, as he also served as the coordinator of the School of Paramedics, shaping the future of medical professionals in Edo State and beyond.
