Senator Aminu Tambuwal, the immediate past Governor of Sokoto State, made an appearance before the state Judicial Commission of Inquiry on Saturday. The commission is tasked with investigating certain actions taken during Tambuwal’s tenure as governor. This development comes after the current Governor, Ahmed Sokoto, established the judicial commission upon assuming office.
Accompanied by some members of his former executive team, Tambuwal was present at the commission but was unable to testify as he was requested to reappear on a future date, the details of which will be communicated later. Taking to his social media handle, the Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District expressed his participation in the inquiry, emphasizing the importance of upholding the rule of law and respecting constituted authorities.
Tambuwal highlighted the track record of integrity maintained by his administration and underscored the significance of instilling respect for the rule of law in the younger generation. He emphasized that adherence to the laws of the land, particularly the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is essential for all citizens, regardless of their status or position.
