Liam Payne, former member of the globally renowned boy band One Direction, has tragically died after falling from the third floor of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The 31-year-old musician was staying at the CasaSur hotel in the Palermo district when the incident occurred, according to local authorities.
The Buenos Aires police confirmed they were called to the scene following reports of “an aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol.” Emergency responders found Payne’s body in the hotel’s interior patio and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Payne rose to international fame alongside his One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson. The group became one of the best-selling musical acts of the 2010s before going on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.
