Former Minister Alleges Manipulations and Fraudulent Approvals in Buhari Administration

Adebayo Shittu, a former Minister of Communication, has stirred controversy by accusing the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari of being rife with manipulations and fraudulent approvals. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Shittu claimed that many approvals did not originate from President Buhari himself.

Shittu, who served as minister between 2015 and 2019, lamented the alleged exploitation of relationships with the President by individuals close to him, leading to detrimental consequences for the country’s economy. He emphasized that numerous manipulations occurred without the President’s awareness, implicating individuals within Buhari’s circle and the then-CBN governor.

Expressing concern over the economic repercussions, Shittu called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. He urged the EFCC to scrutinize how such actions transpired without the President’s knowledge, emphasizing the need for accountability and transparency in governance.
