A fire broke out at the Kwara State High Court Complex in Ilorin on Sunday night, partially destroying Courtroom No. 10. The blaze, which began around 8:02 pm, was reportedly caused by a power surge, according to the Kwara State Fire Service.
Firefighters responded swiftly, containing the fire and preventing further damage to the court complex. Items lost in the incident include two air conditioners, a plasma TV, a fan, important documents, and furniture.
Hassan Adekunle, the Head of Media and Publicity for the Kwara State Fire Service, praised the firefighters for their prompt action. The Chief Judge of Kwara State and the Special Adviser to the Governor also commended the efforts of the fire service team.
