Femi Falana Denies Involvement in Bobrisky’s Alleged Presidential Pardon Deal

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has fiercely denied allegations linking him to efforts to secure a presidential pardon for Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky. The claim, which surfaced in a viral audio released by popular influencer Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, suggested Falana sought a pardon for Bobrisky in exchange for N10 million.

In response, Falana condemned the allegation as a “vicious, wicked, and reckless” attempt to damage his reputation. The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) firmly stated he had never communicated with Bobrisky regarding any pardon or legal matter.

A letter from Falana’s legal representative, Taiwo Olawanle, demanded an immediate retraction and apology from VeryDarkMan, to be published across all platforms that disseminated the false claim. The letter warned that failure to comply within 24 hours would result in legal action, including a claim for damages over the defamatory statements.

The controversy stems from an audio in which Bobrisky also alleged that unnamed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) collected N15 million to drop money laundering charges against him. However, Bobrisky later refuted these claims, stating via Instagram that he had served his jail term.
