FCT Police Arrest Six Armed Robbery Suspects in Utako Operation

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command announced the arrest of six armed robbery suspects on Saturday, following an operation conducted by operatives attached to the Utako divisional headquarters. Acting on credible intelligence, the police apprehended the suspects, who were notorious for attacking unsuspecting passengers in their vehicles or tricycles, robbing them, and then pushing them off the moving vehicles.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspects were identified as Abubakar Adams, Ismail Salisu, Yusuf Bello, Nasiru Saidi, Sani Usman, and Ibrahim Kasa. These individuals were arrested after multiple complaints from victims who reported losing mobile phones, money, gadgets, and other personal belongings.

“The suspects were apprehended on the heels of complaints received from multiple victims of these atrocious acts,” SP Adeh stated. “Some of their victims reported losing their mobile phones, money, gadgets, and other belongings to these criminal individuals who have since confessed to the crime.”

During the operation, the police recovered light weapons such as cutlasses and knives, along with a stolen mobile phone from one of the victims. The investigation is ongoing.
