The incident occurred around 8:24 pm near Ogbere Junction and involved a DAF truck and a Volvo truck.

The spokesperson attributed the cause of the accident to route violation and excessive speed, emphasizing the need for motorists to adhere to traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies. The crash resulted in the temporary diversion of traffic from inward Benin to outward to avoid further incidents.
