The family of Rebekah Sekidika, a first-class graduate of Benson Idahosa University, who tragically passed away during a medical procedure in Port Harcourt, has obtained police approval to lay her to rest.
Recounting the events leading to her untimely demise, Rebekah’s father, Sampson Sekidika, alleged negligence and incompetence on the part of the medical staff at Paragon Clinics and Image Diagnosis in Port Harcourt, where the procedure was conducted on February 2, 2024. Rebekah, a promising young graduate who had secured admission to an MSc program in the United Kingdom, was scheduled to travel shortly before her passing.
Sekidika disclosed that an autopsy had been conducted on Rebekah’s body, with samples sent for toxicology tests at two independent medical centers. While awaiting the comprehensive reports, the family received approval from the police to proceed with the burial arrangements.
He stated, “Burial has been slated for March 2, 2024, at the Vaults and Gardens Cemetery, Port Harcourt.” Despite laying Rebekah to rest, Sekidika affirmed his commitment to pursuing justice for his daughter. He vowed to continue the legal process to ensure accountability for those responsible for her death and seek appropriate redress.
