England Thrash Ireland by 275 Runs to Seal Series Win in Belfast

Tammy Beaumont’s unbeaten 150 powered England to a crushing 275-run victory over Ireland in the second ODI, securing the series win in Belfast. England posted a commanding 320-8, while Ireland crumbled to their lowest-ever ODI total, being bowled out for just 45 in 16.5 overs.

Beaumont anchored the innings with her 10th ODI century, the most by any Englishwoman, and found a powerful ally in Freya Kemp, whose explosive 65 from 47 balls helped England accelerate. The pair’s 101-run stand for the fourth wicket laid the foundation for England’s dominance.

Ireland’s response was disastrous, losing four wickets inside the first four overs. Captain Kate Cross (3-8) and Lauren Filer (3-10) spearheaded England’s bowling attack, with only Una Raymond-Hoey managing double figures for the hosts with 22.

Making her international debut, Georgia Davis impressed with 2-19, while Kemp continued to shine, adding two wickets to her all-round performance.

The victory, England’s biggest ever in terms of runs, follows their win in the first ODI, and they will look to complete the sweep in the final match of the series on Wednesday.

Player of the match, Tammy Beaumont, praised Ireland’s early bowling but acknowledged the need to adapt, saying, “I found it tough early on… Freya Kemp really showed her class.”
