Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has advised President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action against appointees who fail to deliver on their mandates. Speaking to journalists in Maiduguri on Monday, El-Rufai urged President Tinubu to consider replacing underperforming appointees and reassessing policies that have not yielded the desired outcomes.
El-Rufai emphasized the importance of holding public officials accountable, stating, “You appointed a person into a position and he is not working according to the expectation, you should have the humility to tell him that I need a better person, go and do something else.”
Additionally, he called on citizens to offer prayers and support to the administration as it strives to address pressing issues and implement effective policies. El-Rufai highlighted the significance of leadership humility and the willingness to make necessary course corrections for societal progress.
“As citizens, we must pray for our leaders for God to guide them to see or do what is right,” El-Rufai remarked. “For God to give them the humility to reverse themselves when necessary and do the right thing; that’s how society progresses.”
