Ekiti State Government Promises Relief Amid Economic Challenges

The Ekiti State Government has reassured its citizens that measures are being taken to alleviate the hardships caused by the soaring prices of essential commodities. In a message of hope, the government expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would implement necessary economic and political strategies to mitigate the difficulties faced by Nigerians, thereby strengthening the economy and restoring normalcy.

Speaking at Ido-Ile Ekiti during the monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise, Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, emphasized the commitment of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his administration to finding innovative solutions to cushion the impact of hyperinflation on residents. Mrs. Afuye highlighted the allocation of N331 million for local governments to procure palliative materials and the establishment of a Price Control and Regulation Committee as evidence of proactive measures being taken by the state government.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by economic turmoil, Mrs. Afuye urged citizens to prioritize personal and environmental hygiene for improved wellness and longevity. She emphasized that despite the prevailing difficulties, efforts were underway to address the crisis effectively.

Mrs. Afuye called for patience and support for President Tinubu’s administration, assuring citizens that concerted efforts were being made to overcome the current situation. She lauded Governor Oyebanji’s dedication to the welfare of Ekiti residents, emphasizing his tireless commitment to addressing their needs.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to environmental sanitation, Mrs. Afuye underscored the importance of cleanliness in preventing the outbreak of diseases. She commended the efforts of the citizens in maintaining a clean environment and urged them to continue their collective efforts for the well-being of all.

In his remarks, the Olojudo of Ido Ile, Oba Aderemi Obaleye, praised Governor Oyebanji for his swift action in advancing economic and infrastructural development in Ekiti. He pledged the community’s unwavering support to ensure the health and safety of residents.

Accompanying the Deputy Governor were top government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Habibat Adubiaro, and the Permanent Secretary in her office, Mr. Abayomi Opeyemi, underscoring the government’s commitment to addressing the pressing needs of the populace.
