A diaspora group, Egbe Omo Otun Abroad, has stepped in to address the equipment deficit at the General Hospital in Otun Ekiti, Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State, aiming to enhance healthcare services for their community members. The group’s president, Alhaji Tiamiyu Salau, highlighted the critical shortage of basic amenities at the hospital, prompting the need for immediate action to improve patients’ experience.
During the presentation ceremony at Otun Ekiti, Salau, represented by Dr. Abiodun Orisasona, emphasized that the donation of essential medical items would significantly enhance patient care and comfort at the hospital. The donated items include 20 ultra-modern single crank beds, bedside cabinets, mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, Sphygmomanometers for blood pressure monitoring, baby weight machines, and baby cribs, all aimed at fostering a conducive environment for healthcare delivery.
Salau, recalling the group’s previous donation of beds to the facility in 1999, urged both the hospital management and patients to utilize the donated materials effectively, ensuring that individuals seeking medical attention receive it with comfort and dignity.
The Oore of Otun, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, commended Egbe Omo Otun Abroad for their patriotic gesture, expressing optimism that the donation would have a lasting positive impact on the community’s healthcare standard. Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of Ekiti State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Olasunkanmi Alabi, represented by Dr. Moses Afuye, lauded the group’s kindness and reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining medical facilities for the benefit of patients.
