Operatives of the Kano Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended 13 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in the Badawa area of Kano metropolis, Kano State.
The arrests were made based on intelligence indicating the presence of a syndicate involved in cyber-related crimes, leading to the successful apprehension of the suspects.
Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the EFCC, confirmed the arrests in a statement to Vanguard on Friday. He noted that various incriminating items were seized from the suspects during the operation.
Oyewale further stated that the suspects would face charges in court once investigations into their activities are concluded.
