Controversial Nigerian singer, Eedris Abdulkareem, has stirred up controversy by asserting that his colleague, 2Face, owes much of his career success to his former bandmate, Blackface.
During a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Abdulkareem voiced his opinion in Pidgin, stating, “Most of the things wey 2face be today, na Blackface make am happen.” He credited Blackface as the driving force behind 2Baba’s rise to fame, emphasizing the pivotal role played by Blackface during their time together in the defunct group, Plantashun Boiz.
The Plantashun Boiz, comprising Blackface, 2Baba (then known as 2Face), and Faze, garnered widespread acclaim before their eventual split, which led each member to pursue solo careers. However, Abdulkareem’s assertion suggests that Blackface’s influence and contributions were instrumental in shaping 2Baba’s career trajectory.
It’s worth noting that Blackface has previously accused 2Baba of being responsible for the group’s breakup and has also alleged that 2Baba plagiarized his hit song, ‘African Queen.’
