Edwin Clark Urges PDP to Expel Nyesom Wike Amid Allegations of Intimidation

Former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South leader, Chief Edwin Clark, has called on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to expel Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), to safeguard the party’s integrity. In an open letter addressed to the PDP’s Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Damagun, Clark accused Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, of using his proximity to President Bola Tinubu to intimidate the current Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and undermine the party.

During a press briefing at his Asokoro residence in Abuja, Clark, a prominent figure in the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), expressed his dismay at Wike’s actions. He emphasized that he could not stand by and allow the minister to continue harassing Governor Fubara. Clark, who has been active in politics long before Wike’s birth, warned Damagun that failing to address Wike’s behavior could have disastrous consequences for the party.

Clark also revealed that he is working on a book titled “PDP: To Be or Not To Be,” in which he plans to document his criticisms of former Governors Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), and Ben Ayade (Cross River) for defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He accused Wike of hypocrisy, claiming that after criticizing these governors for their defections, Wike is now “dancing naked” with the ruling party.
