BENIN CITY – Edo State’s government and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are set to commence their collaborative efforts for a smooth transition of power, with the joint sitting of their transition committees scheduled for Friday. The meeting is in preparation for the November handover to Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Chris Nehikhare, the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, announced during a press briefing that the inaugural session of the Edo State Joint Transition Committee will be held at the John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) at 10 a.m. The state government has confirmed receiving the list of APC committee members in response to an earlier request for collaboration.
“The primary objective of the Transition Committee is to facilitate a smooth handing over of government. We look forward to the collaborative efforts of all members in ensuring a seamless transition,” Nehikhare stated.
The state government’s representatives on the committee include Mr. Joseph Eboigbe (SSG/Chairman), Eire Ifueko Alufohai Esq. (Secretary/Coordinator), Mr. Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi (Advisor), Isoken Omo (Advisor), Joan Oviawe (Advisor), and several other members from various sectors.
On the APC side, Dr. Pius Odubu will serve as Chairman, joined by prominent members including Dr. Pharm. Matthew Urhoghide, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Barrister Andrew Adaze Enwanta, Dr. Washington Osifo, Nosa Adams, Omosede Igbinedion, and others, making up a comprehensive list aimed at ensuring effective collaboration during the transition process.
