Ed Sheeran Challenges Artists Who Claim They’re Not in Music for Success

British singer Ed Sheeran has expressed his skepticism towards fellow musicians who claim they are in the music industry purely for passion, not for success. In a recent appearance on the podcast *Therapuss With Jake Shane*, the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker openly questioned these claims.

Sheeran argued that if these artists genuinely didn’t care about success, they wouldn’t release their music commercially or sign with record labels. He stated, “I don’t believe any artist that says they don’t, otherwise, you wouldn’t release music because you’d be like, ‘If I don’t care what people think, then why would I even put it out?’ You’d just sort of make the music and be like, ‘Well, that’s made me feel good.’”

The multiple Grammy-winning singer emphasized that all artists inherently want to be successful and famous, suggesting that those who claim otherwise do so because it “sounds cool.” He particularly noted that anyone involved in the pop scene “definitely cares” about success.
