Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran Asserts Leadership in Lagos PDP, Sets Sights on 2027 Elections

Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the Lagos State PDP Governorship Candidate in the 2023 General Elections, has reaffirmed his position as the apex leader of the party in the state. Speaking at a ‘Thank You Parley’ organized to appreciate supporters of his gubernatorial campaign, Adediran declared his readiness to provide leadership in preparation for the 2027 elections.

“As far as Jandor is concerned, by the constitution of our party and that of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as the candidate of the party as at today in Lagos State, I am the leader,” Adediran stated, emphasizing his commitment to the party’s cause and his intention to continue leading it.

Addressing party faithful and leaders, Adediran highlighted the importance of unity within the party and urged those who no longer align with its principles to seek membership elsewhere. He called for solidarity among like-minded individuals within the PDP to forge ahead and strengthen the party.

Reflecting on the challenges faced during the 2023 elections, Adediran commended supporters for their dedication and hard work, emphasizing the rigorous campaign efforts undertaken to reach every corner of the state. He expressed gratitude to those who stood by him and vowed to remain steadfast in their pursuit of political change in Lagos.

Adediran urged the national leadership of the PDP to take decisive action against unpatriotic leaders within the party, stressing the importance of accountability and transparency in rebuilding its strength.

Commenting on the state of the nation, Adediran called on President Bola Tinubu to seek assistance and engage with the right individuals to alleviate the suffering of the masses. He criticized the sudden removal of fuel subsidy, citing its adverse effects on the populace, and advocated for a more considerate approach to policy implementation.

In attendance at the event was Otunba Segun Adewale, a former Lagos PDP Chairman, who pledged his support for Adediran’s future endeavors, expressing confidence in his leadership. Adewale attributed the repeated defeats of the PDP in Lagos State to internal challenges and underscored the need for strategic reforms within the party.

Echoing similar sentiments, Pa Christopher Osoba, a PDP Chieftain, encouraged Adediran not to be discouraged by past setbacks and assured him of continued support in the next electoral cycle. He called for unity among party members and emphasized the importance of learning from past mistakes to secure victory in future elections.

Dr. Jonathan Nnaji, representing non-indigenes in the party, commended Adediran for his courage and urged the PDP to overcome internal divisions for the greater good. The event, held at Liberty House, Jandor’s Campaign Office in Ikeja, brought together hundreds of PDP loyalists and leaders, signaling a renewed sense of commitment to the party’s cause.
