Double Blow for Manchester United as Martinez and Lindelof Sidelined with Muscle Injuries

Manchester United has been hit with a significant setback as defenders Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof are set to be sidelined due to muscle injuries, ruling them out for at least a month.

Martinez, who recently returned from a seven-week absence due to a knee injury, has now suffered a calf strain during training. This setback comes just after his appearance in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Brentford.

Meanwhile, Lindelof sustained a hamstring injury during the same game against Brentford, leading to Martinez replacing him on the field.

With left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia already out due to injuries, Erik ten Hag’s side faces additional defensive challenges.

Both Martinez and Lindelof are hopeful of returning before the end of the season. However, their month-long absence would result in them missing crucial matches, including five Premier League games starting with Thursday’s fixture against Chelsea, as well as the FA Cup semi-final clash against Coventry.
