Donald Trump Announces He Won’t Participate in Future Debate with Kamala Harris

Former President Donald Trump has announced he will not take part in any further debates with Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the November presidential election. This decision follows their recent televised debate hosted by ABC News, which drew a large audience of 67 million viewers.

Trump made the announcement on his Truth Social platform, writing, “THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!” This declaration comes after his previous encounters with both President Joe Biden in June and Harris earlier this week.

Harris’ campaign quickly requested another debate following the showdown, citing the need for further discussion. Trump, however, dismissed this, claiming the vice president is desperate for a rematch after what he deemed his victory.

“Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris,” Trump stated, while asserting that Harris’ call for another debate mirrors a “prizefighter” seeking a rematch after losing a fight.

A CNN snap poll following the debate showed Harris outperforming Trump, with 63 percent of viewers favoring her performance compared to Trump’s 37 percent. Similarly, a YouGov poll indicated Harris presented a clearer plan by 43 to 32 percent.

Meanwhile, a debate between the vice-presidential running mates, Democratic Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota and Republican Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, is set to take place on October 1. CBS News will host this debate.
