Veteran Nigerian producer and music executive Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has claimed he is still just beginning his career.
The 41-year-old Mavin Records boss made this statement in response to a fan’s suggestion for an all-legends concert featuring prominent Nigerian artists like P-Square, Wande Coal, and others. The fan, using the handle @beingzora, tweeted, “Ughhh someone needs to plan a OG Naija music festival with P-Square, Dbanj, Wande Coal, Duncan Mighty, Don Jazzy (Old Mavins), Ice Prince!!! That would go so crazyyyy!”
Don Jazzy reposted the tweet, replying, “I be upcoming o. Stay there.”
Don Jazzy first gained prominence in 2004 after co-founding Mo’ Hits Records with D’banj. He served as an in-house producer for Kanye West’s record label, GOOD Music, from 2011 to 2015.
In 2012, after the split of Mo’ Hits, he founded Mavin Records. In 2024, he sold Mavin Records to Universal Music Group but retained his role as the chief executive officer (CEO).
