Dispatch Rider Arrested for Selling iPhones Worth N1.7 Million Meant for Delivery

Operatives from the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended a dispatch rider, Matthew Odah, aged 27, for unlawfully selling three iPhones valued at N1.7 million, which were entrusted to him for delivery.

According to a statement released by the RRS on its official handle on Sunday, Odah, while working as a dispatch rider, collected an iPhone 14 ProMax (128 GB) and two iPhone 11 (128 and 68 GB) on August 23, 2023, intended for delivery to a customer in Lekki, Lagos. However, instead of fulfilling his duty, Odah absconded with the consignment and switched off his phone.

Following a meticulous and covert investigation, Odah was apprehended at Lemon Bus Stop, Alpha Beach, Lagos. During interrogation, Odah confessed to selling the three iPhones for N300,000. Subsequently, both Odah and the buyers were arrested.

One of the iPhones was recovered, and the suspects are set to be arraigned upon the conclusion of investigations.
