Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has addressed the rumors circulating about an alleged romantic affair with Matthew Ekeinde, the husband of veteran actress Omotola Jalade. The rumors, which also claimed that Ekeinde had purchased a luxury car for Etiko, have been making rounds on social media.
During an Instagram Live session, Etiko vehemently denied the allegations, describing them as baseless and intended to tarnish her reputation. She expressed frustration over the persistent negative attention, emphasizing that she has worked hard for her success.
“If you want to withhold the blessings of God in somebody else’s life and you want to grow, it is impossible,” Etiko said. “I worked for 99.9% of all I have. I don’t know why some people are bitter, perhaps they are scared.”
Etiko explained that the rumors likely stemmed from a photo taken with Ekeinde over four years ago when he was the pilot on a flight she was on. She recounted how, out of respect for him as a senior colleague’s husband, she asked to take a selfie with him, which has now been misconstrued.
