Destalker Proves Critics Wrong: Recalls FunnyBone’s Six-Month Prediction

Stand-up comedian Oghenekowhoyan Onaibe Desmond, popularly known as Destalker, revealed an interesting anecdote during his recent appearance on the Afrobeats Podcast hosted by Shopsydoo. According to Destalker, his colleague FunnyBone once predicted that he wouldn’t last in the comedy industry and would fade away within six months.

Sharing the incident, Destalker recounted, “After I won my first Best Comedian of the Year award, my colleagues started getting jealous of me. FunnyBone said, ‘What does he feel like? Let’s give him 6 months.’” The revelation was made in a candid manner, with Destalker emphasizing that he overheard FunnyBone’s prediction while sitting close to him.

Undeterred by the skepticism, Destalker highlighted the unpredictability of success, stating, “Listen, you cannot give time for what God has timed.” He went on to recall the specifics of FunnyBone’s remarks, mentioning the comedian’s doubts about his lasting impact and drawing parallels with another comedian, Akpororo.

In a triumphant response to the doubters, Destalker shared, “I won the same award for four consecutive years.” This revelation not only showcases Destalker’s resilience in the face of skepticism but also underscores the unpredictable nature of success in the entertainment industry.
