Dembele and Mbappe Lead PSG to Victory, Title Celebration Delayed

Paris St-Germain’s march towards the Ligue 1 title continued with a commanding 4-1 victory over Lorient, with Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe starring with two goals each.

PSG’s path to their third consecutive league title seemed imminent as Dembele opened the scoring in the 19th minute, followed swiftly by Mbappe’s clever flick just three minutes later. Dembele grabbed his second with a sublime finish assisted by Mbappe, who then sealed the win with a goal in stoppage time.

Mbappe’s brace not only secured the victory but also marked a historic milestone as he became the first French player to reach the 25-goal mark in four consecutive seasons in Europe’s top five leagues.

Despite Lorient’s consolation goal by Bamba Dieng, PSG’s dominance was evident throughout the match, showcasing their attacking prowess and determination to clinch the title.

However, PSG’s celebrations were put on hold as Monaco’s 1-0 win over Lille delayed their coronation. Nonetheless, PSG can secure their 12th Ligue 1 title on Saturday in front of their home fans against Le Havre.
