Davido has publicly responded to Sophia Momodu’s claims that he should not be granted joint custody of their daughter, Imade. Momodu had previously argued in court that Davido’s frequent travel as an artist and his marriage to another woman make him unfit for custody. She also cited the tragic loss of Davido’s son under questionable circumstances as further reason to deny him custody.
In a post on his official X page, Davido addressed these claims directly. “You constantly bringing up the death of my child at any point you can to just remind us of this tragedy that haunts us every day of our lives,” he wrote. He assured his daughter that he has fought for her, stating, “Imade will grow up to see that I fought for her. As for now, you can have her.”
Davido concluded his message with a heartfelt note to his daughter: “P.S.: She won’t be a child forever. Enjoy Imade Aurora Adeleke! Your father loves you!”
