Renowned music sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has once again demonstrated his philanthropic spirit by announcing a generous donation of N300 million through his foundation, the David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), to orphanages across Nigeria.
In a press statement shared on his Instagram, Davido expressed gratitude to God for granting him the opportunity to uplift others, particularly Nigerian children. This substantial donation is part of his annual commitment to supporting the welfare of underprivileged children in the country.
According to the statement, the donation will benefit a total of 13,936 eligible children, with 1,688 identified as beneficiaries of the funds. The allocation aims to support 427 eligible orphanage homes across Nigeria, with each eligible child set to receive an average of N19,733.
“We are pleased to announce that the Davido Adeleke Foundation, DAF, has committed to an additional donation of N300 million to orphanages across Nigeria as part of our ongoing efforts to contribute to the welfare of our nation’s children,” the statement reads.
Recognizing the importance of transparency and accountability in charitable endeavors, Davido assured the public that the allocated funds have been deposited into the foundation’s bank accounts. He emphasized the meticulous vetting process in place to verify recipient institutions’ legitimacy and ensure that the funds are utilized for their intended purpose.
While acknowledging that the disbursement process may take time due to evolving orphanage statistics, Davido’s team is dedicated to completing the process within the next two to three weeks. The team will work diligently to verify and process payments for selected orphanages nationwide.
In an accompanying Instagram post, Davido expressed his gratitude and reiterated his commitment to shaping a brighter future for Nigeria’s children. He encouraged others to join him in making a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged youth.
This generous donation follows Davido’s previous philanthropic efforts, including a N237 million donation to orphanages in 2023 and a N250 million contribution in 2021. His unwavering commitment to supporting vulnerable communities highlights his dedication to making a meaningful difference in Nigeria’s social landscape.
