Popular media personality Daddy Freeze has responded to an Appeal Court ruling that upheld a N5 million fine against him for allegedly committing adultery with Benedicta Elechi.
On February 18, 2021, a Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt ordered Daddy Freeze to pay the fine to Paul Odekina, who was married to Elechi at the time of the incident. Dissatisfied with the judgement, Daddy Freeze sought redress in the Appeal Court.
Addressing the allegations on his Instagram live show, Daddy Freeze denied the accusations of adultery. “I will pay the adultery fine; my wristwatch alone cost over N100 million, but I am innocent,” he stated. “This happened many years ago. I was going through serious torment, so was the lady, and we both jam many years later in church; this happened over 12 years ago.”
