Cristiano Ronaldo Hints at Retirement with Al-Nassr as Final Destination

Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested that Al-Nassr could be the last club of his illustrious career, indicating that he might retire with the Saudi Pro League side. The 39-year-old Portugal international, who joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 after departing Manchester United, revealed his thoughts in an interview with Portuguese TV channel Now.

“I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years, but probably I will retire here at Al-Nassr,” Ronaldo said. “I’m happy at this club, I feel good in this country too. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue.”

Ronaldo, who has scored 898 career goals, including 130 for Portugal, remains eager to add to his tally and confirmed his intention to continue playing for the national team. “When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance… Right now what I want is to be able to help the national team in their upcoming matches,” he added.

Despite being linked with a potential return to Sporting Lisbon, where his career began, Ronaldo’s remarks suggest he is content in Saudi Arabia. He also dismissed the idea of becoming a manager once he retires, saying it “doesn’t even cross my mind.”

Ronaldo is set to receive a special award from UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, recognizing his remarkable achievements in the Champions League. With 140 goals in 183 appearances, Ronaldo is the competition’s all-time leading goalscorer, well ahead of his closest rivals Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski.

As he looks ahead to his final years on the pitch, Ronaldo remains focused on both his club and international duties, with Portugal’s upcoming Nations League matches in September and October likely to see him continue his record-breaking career.
