A high court in Ikeja, Lagos State, has ordered social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, to remove defamatory videos targeting prominent human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN. The court also instructed Otse to refrain from making any further comments about the Falanas.
This ruling follows Falana’s statement that he was resisting the urge to file criminal charges against VeryDarkMan, who had accused him of allegedly facilitating a pardon for cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky.
The controversy arose when, on September 24, 2024, VeryDarkMan leaked a voice recording of Bobrisky, in which the cross-dresser claimed that singer Falz had contacted him during his six-month jail term. In response, the Falanas demanded a retraction of the statements and a formal apology within 24 hours.
