Pastor Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, widely known as Odumeje, has opened up about his troubled past, revealing that he was involved in armed robbery at the age of 14. The controversial cleric shared this during a sermon, recounting his transformation from a life of crime to becoming a religious leader.
Odumeje, who grew up in a rough neighborhood in Onitsha, Anambra State, attributed his criminal activities to the harsh environment he was raised in. He said the tough conditions of the street pushed him into crime at a young age. However, his life took a significant turn when his mother introduced him to Christianity, guiding him toward a spiritual path.
“I was born in Onitsha city, No. 3, Nnewi Street, and I grew up in a dangerous street. I became an armed robber at the age of 14. I became a terrorist,” Odumeje revealed in a viral video. “Until Jesus Christ arrested me through the help of my mother to change my life. And a destroyer became a saviour.”
His story of redemption highlights his transition from a notorious past to a life of preaching and leading his congregation.
