Chrisland Schools Advocate Against Bullying and Promote Student Well-being

As part of their commitment to school safety, Chrisland Schools recently organized a programme during the ‘Safeguarding Week’ to sensitize students about the importance of standing against bullying and other harmful behaviors.

Mr. Akin Fadeyi, a member of Chrisland Schools’ Advisory Board, emphasized the school’s dedication to ensuring the safety of its students.

Mrs. Kemi Fajemirokun, Head of Risk, Compliance, Safeguarding, and Child Protection at Chrisland Schools, highlighted the significance of the event, which aimed to empower students with the knowledge and tools to navigate school life confidently and safely.

The theme of this term’s programme was ‘Promoting Total Well-being and Positive Mental Health Through Protection from Cyberbullying and General Bullying’. The focus was on raising awareness about the harmful effects of bullying and educating students on how to protect themselves while encouraging them to speak up.

In addition to awareness sessions, safeguarding ambassadors were reintroduced for each level, tasked with setting examples and promoting a safe and supportive environment.

During the programme, organizational psychologist and parent at Chrisland High School, Ikeja, Maureen Ada-Leonard, emphasized the importance of communication between students and their parents at home and counselors at school.
