Chidimma Adetshina has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, a significant achievement following a tumultuous period in her pageantry career.
Chidimma, a 23-year-old law student, recently found herself at the center of controversy after being forced to withdraw from the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant. Her withdrawal followed xenophobic backlash, as the contestant faced criticism over her Nigerian nationality.
The resilient beauty queen returned to Nigeria, where she accepted the challenge of competing in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant. Her efforts paid off as she emerged victorious at the grand finale held at Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos, on Saturday night.
Guy Murray-Bruce, President of Silverbird Group, the organization behind the competition, announced Chidimma Adetshina as the winner. Representing Taraba State, Adetshina outshined 24 other contestants in a keenly contested event to claim the prestigious title.
