Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez Banned from Driving Following Multiple Offences

Chelsea and Argentina football star Enzo Fernandez has been banned from driving for six months following two motoring offences in west Wales. The 23-year-old midfielder was found guilty of failing to identify the driver of a Porsche Cayenne that allegedly ran a red light in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, in November 2023 and was caught speeding in Swansea the following month.

Although it was not proven that Fernandez was driving the car on either occasion, he did not respond to requests from Dyfed-Powys Police and South Wales Police for details about the driver. Fernandez, who already had nine penalty points on his driving licence for previous offences, was handed an additional six points for each failure to provide information, resulting in an automatic six-month driving ban.

The footballer, who had just played for Argentina in Colombia the day before the court hearing, did not appear in person at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court. In addition to the ban, Fernandez was ordered to pay £2,000 in fines, £210 in costs, and an £800 surcharge, amounting to a total of £3,020, to be paid by 9 October.

Fernandez, who played a crucial role in Argentina’s 2022 World Cup victory, joined Chelsea in 2023 for a British record transfer fee of £107 million.
